Reagent set for the measurement of copper in low concentration. Copper(I) ions form an intensely yellow coloured complex with porphyrin, the intensity of which determines the concentration. In natural waters, copper usually only occurs as a trace element in concentrations of up to 20 µg/L. In plants and systems, elevated levels can be a cause for concern. In plants and systems, increased values can be a sign of corrosion of copper pipes.
