A matrix blank kit for ICP-OES analysis of oils
The Inorganic Ventures 2 Standard ASOS Kit, Blank, is the zero-concentration member of the ASOSolv calibration kit range for ICP-OES (inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy) analysis of oils. It contains two 500 mL matrix-only solutions with no added elements: 10% nitric acid (HNO3) and 20% hydrochloric acid (HCl). The blank is used to set the zero point of a calibration made with the other kits in the range.
The kits are designed for use with ASOSolv, a hybrid organic solvent that bridges oil-based sample matrices and aqueous certified reference materials. It supports calibration for wear metals, additive metals, contaminant testing and edible oil analysis using direct dilution workflows.

Choosing the right kit
The kits are sold by concentration. The calibration level you get after the 10x dilution with ASOSolv is one tenth of the concentration of each solution. Check the part number carefully when ordering. You will also need ASOSolv solvent: see the ASOSolv Solvent Blank.
